Deadhouse Founder Enzo Tedeschi was honoured at Melbourne Webfest 2019 with the Michael Ajakwe Jr Lifetime Achievement Award for his work within, and support of, the filmmaking community working in the digital space.
There is no doubt about Enzo’s absolute love of all things filmmaking. Outside of producing and directing Deadhouse projects Enzo has been heavily involved with a string of award-winning projects that highlight the reason for this accolade. In addition to upcoming releases like Dark Whispers Volume 1 and Beast No More, these include:-
Event Zero (also directed by Enzo) which has completed it’s festival run that included screenings at Gold Coast Film Festival (GCFF), Melbourne Webfest, Marseille Webfest, Berlin Webfest, Seoul Webfest and Sicily Webfest. It also collected a swag of awards including most recently Best Actress (Ash Richardo) for Best Editing (Joe Morris, Kent Hau) and Best Sound (Sasha Zastavnikovic) marking the end of that particular project's festival run with a home town screening at Sydney Webfest. Event Zero is available to rent or buy on iTunes or on Blackpills outside of Australia and New Zealand.
Writer / Director Heidi Lee Douglas' Devil Woman has been enjoying a great run of international festival selections including Fantasia, Frightfest and Monsterfest - learn more about Heidi's environmentally-themed horror film at www.devilwomanfilm.com.
Triple threat Writer / Director / Actor Kristy Best's unapologetically crass yet surprisingly informative online comedy series How To Know If You're Dating A Narcissist added another gong to it's ever growing list of festival selections and accolades, picking up the Best Australian Comedy Award at Sydney Webfest. The series is currently ranked #11 in the Web Series World Cup! You can watch the entire series at www.swearycanary.com.
Finally, Dana Lee Mierowsky's post-apocalyptic sci-fi short Sammy has absolutely swept the pool enjoying awards, nominations and selections right across the globe, including the recent SciFi Film Festival in Sydney; Ozflix Ozsnax Awards, Melbourne; AACTA Social Shorts Film Competition; and Southampton International Film Festival, UK.
Sammy is getting a particularly great response on the US festival circuit winning Best Family Short at Silicon Beach Film Festival and Best Child Actress at Indie Fest LA International Film Festival. Further selections and nominations have poured in from Silver State Film Festival, Las Vegas; San Francisco Independent Short Film Festival; Full Bloom Film Festival, North Carolina; International Social Change Film Festival, Chicago, New York, Los Angeles; Children's Day International Film Festival, Colorado; Jellyfest, Los Angeles; and Kids First Film Festival, Sante Fe, New Mexico.
